Spirited Dialogue
Did Sexism do Hillary In?
With frayed nerves on the mend - and with all the wisdom of four weeks' hindsight, we thought it safe to sit down and ask "Did Hillary lose because she was too much woman - or too little?"
Please email us to save you a hot seat (and cool glass of wine) – and so we can also shoot you readings and location details. Spots limited to 20.
Should Catholics be Democrat or Republican?
1 out of 4 Americans are Catholic.
55% of voting Catholics are Democrat and 44% Republican. We are the ultimate swing vote. So, do we belong to the religious right or are we the religious left? Do you dare sit down and chat about religion and politics at the same seating? Heck, why not? Sound's like a good time to me!

Credit Crunch Time
While the world economy crumbles around us, we thought it'd be fun to gather for a drink or two and get some bearings on just how deep the credit market has sunk and how - if at all - we can pull ourselves out.
If, like your hostess, you're not entirely sure what a "credit market" is, Steve Zimmer will be on hand to give us the Econ 101. Space is limited 20 dialoguers, so please RSVP to reserve a seat.
Manhattan location deets TBA. Hope to see you there!
Is this any way to pick a nominee?
The never-ending primary campaign may come to a crashing halt on Super Duper/Tsunami Tuesday, February 5 - to be followed by a never-ending presidential campaign.
Amidst the debating, pandering, fundrasing and baby-kissing - from the corn fields of Iowa to the golf greens of Florida, Spirited Dialogue pauses to ask:
Is this anyway to choose a nominee?
Scott Weinsteing hosts, and Rick Brownell kicks off a discussion on the high-intensity primary season this year to see if we're looking at democracy in action or democracy in distortion.
Talk begins at 7pm and ends at 8pm. Please join us at 6:30 for a glass of wine (don't be shy about bringing a bottle along) and plan to linger after 8 for good conversation with choice peeps.
Space is limited to 20 guests. Please RSVP so we know you're coming and so we can send you the location.
Why are Finland's schools so much better than ours?
The head of Nokia, one of the richest guys in the world, sends his kid to the local public school.
What's up with that?
Join us as we talk about why it is the world's richest nation (ours) still has some pretty crummy public schools. Is it low funding, low expectations, an over-powerful teachers' union or poor parenting that's to blame? What are our best choices to improve our schools?
Bill Brazell will kick off the discussion, taking Finland as foil - and seeing if it leads us to any answers.
